A press conference featuring the 4th Dubrovnik Winter Festival was held in the Festival's main information centre at Luža on 28 November.

On Saturday, 2 December at 8.30 pm, the extensive festival programme will begin with the lighting of the first Advent candle in front of the Cathedral, the switch-on of holiday illumination consisting of more than 900 lights, and the Dubrovnik caroling. Shortly afterwards, Gibonni will appear in a concert in front of St Blaise's Church. This year, shop windows in the Stradun will be decorated in a special way, thus contributing to the overall holiday atmosphere and becoming part of the winter magic. Holiday atmosphere will also be felt in all city areas and suburbs enhanced with holiday decorations. The festival's main concert venue will be the Stradun, the most beautiful open-air stage in the world, where the greatest Croatian pop stars will appear on weekends. In addition to Gibonni, they will include Jacques Houdek, Massimo, Pavel, the Marko Tolja Septet, and The Frajle on 30 December. The regional pop star Dino Merlin will hold a spectacular concert at the New Year's Eve Party in the Stradun. Other performers and attractions will include the Pravila, the Songkillers and colourful fireworks.  On New Year's Day at noon, following the longstanding tradition, the waltz will be danced in the Stradun to the music of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, and oysters and champagne will be served. This year, the orchestra will appear with soprano Nikolina Pinko and Conductor Ivan Josip Skender.

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra's Christmas concert, taking place at the Valamar  Lacroma Hotel Dubrovnik on 22 December, will feature numerous soloists, klapa groups and the renowned Canadian Conductor Marc Tardue, while the most beautiful Dubrovnik songs will be performed under the baton of Đelo Jusić. The performers will include the famous mezzo-soprano Marija Kuhar Šoša, tenors Đani Stipaničev and Stijepo Gleđ Markos, vocalist Maja Grgić and the Dapal Band, as well as Klapa Ragusa, Klapa Subrenum and Klapa Kaše which mark their major anniversaries this year.

The unique atmosphere in the City is enhanced by the Dubrovnik custom of singing Christmas carols in its streets and squares. On weekends, Dubrovnik residents will be entertained by klapa groups singing from Brsalje, through the Stradun and Prijeko, to Gundulić square, where music programmes will also be organised and where visitors can savour gastronomic delicacies sold at kiosks.

Much to the joy of the youngest visitors, the popular golden Teddy Bear from the Stradun will get his own park at Pile, become a true festival mascot, and take part in children's programmes including the associating with Santa's helpers, elves and characters from fairy tales, old games, storytelling, making drawings for Santa and many other programmes. Teddy Bear's little sister will arrive in Dubrovnik on 1 December. A children's programme is also organised in the Bay of Lapad, where an ice skating rink will be set on the tennis courts. It will open on the first day of the festival, 2 December at 3.00 pm, featuring a show on ice by the Lazareti Dance Studio. The ice skating rink will be open from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm every day.
